Sep 10 – Isaiah 24, Isaiah 25, Isaiah 26 2 Corinthians 11:16-33 Psalm 106:32-39

Isaiah 8:-9

He will swallow up death forever; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from all faces, and the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth, for the LORD has spoken.

It will be said on that day, “Behold, this is our God; we have waited for him, that he might save us. This is the LORD; we have waited for him; let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation.”

There is, of course, echos of this in the book of Revelation too. That’s two reassurances in scripture that every tear will be wiped from every eye.

Things are not perfect now – I don’t know if you’ve noticed that or not. IN fact they are a long way from perfect. But there is coming a day when the waiting for perfection will end. There will be a time where we can say – we’ve waited – but now let us be glad and rejoice.

No more tears. No more death. No more sin.

That day is coming! When it gets hard – don’t fix your eyes on whats happening. Fix your eyes on what’s coming!

But for now – we wait. We don’t wait in anxiety – we wait in expectation!
