Oct 17 Jeremiah 35, Jeremiah 36, Jeremiah 37 1 Timothy 2 Psalm 119:49-56

1 Tim 2:4-7

who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.

For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

What a powerful passage this is. We do not serve a cold, distant God. We do not serve a God who doesn’t care about the fate of every person. He desires all people to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth. God wants people to find Him. He wants people to be saved from an eternity separated from Him.

He wants it so much that He gave us Jesus.

This passage also tells us a fundamental truth of the Gospel. There is one God. Just one. We don’t get to pick from a buffet. One.

There is also one mediator between God and man. One. And that is Jesus.

He is the only way to God. It’s that simple. If you want God, you need Jesus.

Jesus have himself so that all men might choose salvation. It’s Jesus who made it possible.

If you don’t know this truth, God wants you to come to a knowledge of this.

If you do know this truth, God wants you to share it. Paul knew this truth and it compelled Him to preach. Because, like God, he didn’t want anyone to be lost. Paul’s mission is out mission. People need to hear that God is calling all people to Himself.
