May 14 – Judges 18, Judges 19 John 8:12-30 Psalm 60:5-12

Judges 19:23-24

The owner of the house went outside and said to them, “No, my friends, don’t be so vile. Since this man is my guest, don’t do this outrageous thing. Look, here is my virgin daughter, and his concubine. I will bring them out to you now, and you can use them and do to them whatever you wish. But as for this man, don’t do such an outrageous thing.”

This is horrible story – and it gets worse. Bear in mind, none of this is a recommendation – there’s no good people here – this is a history. And as the rest of this book has shown, when a nation and people go their own way – they get way off track.

The response, the cutting up of the concubine and the fallout to take place from this are prime examples of how messed up mankind’s solutions can be.

A nation in rebellion against God will do horrible things and justify it.

Pray for your nation. Pray that we will stop doing what seems right to us and follow The Lord.
