Aug 30 – 2 Chronicles 35:20-27, 2 Chronicles 36 2 Corinthians 3:7-18 Psalm 104:19-30

2 Cor 3:12-14

Since we have such a hope, we are very bold, not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face so that the Israelites might not gaze at the outcome of what was being brought to an end. But their minds were hardened. For to this day, when they read the old covenant, that same veil remains unlifted, because only through Christ is it taken away.

What’s Paul saying here? Well first, let’s go back to when Moses came down from the mountain – his face shone. That’s really amazing, and Moses covered it with a veil. Why? Paul is telling us, it’s not because it was bright or off putting but so that the Israelites would not see it fade.

He tell us that their minds were hardened, whenever they read scripture it was like it had a veil over their minds and their hearts. They were reading but still they did not see.

But through Christ the veil has been removed. Torn in two you might say. When we read the old covenant we read it with the veil removed. We see Christ in it!

Don’t let anyone say the Old Testament is of no use because we can read it as it’s meant to be read.

Where the spirit of The Lord is, there is freedom and we can read as one who is free!

Moses wore the veil because the glory faded. But we can have unveiled faces because our access to the glory of God doesn’t fade! No instead we are transformed from one degree of glory to another! It doesn’t get weaker, it gets stronger!

That’s the way the Christian life should look! Not starting with a high and going downhill but getting brighter and brighter all the time because we are beholding the glory of The Lord! If you’ve found your walk starting to grow dull, get into the word and behold His glory!

Psalm 104:19

He made the moon to mark the seasons; the sun knows its time for setting.

I read an article recently that proclaimed “creationism is based on an error in thinking”. That sounds interesting, I thought. It linked creationism with conspiracy theories.

What is this error in thinking I wondered? I expected serious argument.

But no.

Here’s a quote from it “Statements like “the sun rises in order to give us light” or “the purpose of bees is to ensure pollination” are examples of teleological thinking,”

Allow me to disagree. To think that all of this is random and not by design is the error in thinking that blinds people from seeing the truth. If you don’t want to believe in a creator then you will have a biased thinking that tells you this cannot be by design. You can spout the bias of teleological thinking all you want but your thinking is equally biased as you claim Christians are.

But the bible tells us that the moon is not there by accident. It’s there to mark the seasons. The sun is there to provide us with heat and light. All of this is a blessing from a wonderful father. Not because my thinking is biased but because the word of God says so.
