Sep 23 – Isaiah 55, Isaiah 56, Isaiah 57:1-13 Ephesians 2 Psalm 110:1-7

Eph 2:8-9

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

You were Dead. You were unrighteous. You were objects of wrath. That is the condition of man without Jesus. Dead. Unrighteous. Object of Wrath.

Me. You. Everyone.

We were in need of God to do something – because there’s nothing we could do about it. We could not save ourselves. It’s all from God.

It’s by Grace you can be saved. By grace you can be recreated. You can become a brand new creation.

Thanks to the grace of God we have hope.

God has thrown us a life ring as we were drowning in the ocean of eternity. This isn’t something to try out and see how it fits. Jesus isn’t something to give a go to occupy your mind.

When we understand grace we come before Him, broken and realising that He is our only hope – our only solution.

When we really understand what He’s done for us, we don’t come causally – or reluctantly – we come broken at His feet, desperate for Him because we realise He is our Lord and our Saviour.

Because of His grace.

Grace is more astonishing than the miracles of Jesus.

Miracles break the physical law of the universe. Forgiveness broke the moral rules and turned the universe on it’s head.

With justice we get what we deserve. With mercy we don’t get what we deserve. But with Grace… we get what we do not deserve!

I don’t know your situation – but I do know this, whatever it is, Grace is bigger. Grace wins.

If you do not know Jesus today – this is not a case of trying something new – He is the only way – the only truth and the only way to life.

His grace is enough for you. His grace is available because of the cross. Because He died – we get to live.
