Nov 18 Ezekiel 33:21-33, Ezekiel 34, Ezekiel 35, James 2 Psalm 128:1-6

James 2:17-18

So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.

Faith? Or works? What makes the difference?

We all know this passage, which tells us that faith without works… is dead. In other words, it’s all very well to say you have faith, but where is the proof of that? Real faith has an impact on your life. Real faith is made tangible through works.

Does that mean that works are more important? No. Because works without faith… don’t make a difference. In the very next line, James says – someone will say you have faith and I have works… and James is saying that makes no sense. The two are intertwined.

When we have faith – works follow. Faith without works is dead. Works without faith… doesn’t work. How can you show faith apart from works? James is saying I will show you my faith BY my works.

We are saved through faith. But faith must mean something. It must have an impact on us.

What evidence can be seen of your faith in your day to day walk?
