Ezra 3:6

From the first day of the seventh month they began to offer burnt offerings to the LORD. But the foundation of the temple of the LORD was not yet laid.

Priorities are important. They turned up to rebuild and they could have got right to it, holding off on the burnt offerings until it was practical, until the work was done.

But know – they had their priorities in the right place. The building mattered, of course it did – but worship mattered more.

It’s good to have the practical things in place, but they should never take priority over worshipping God.

It’s easy done – we get caught up in the work and we forget to worship. But remember what should come first.

Before the foundations were even laid, they focused on keeping God at the centre of it all. Make sure you keep the right things at the top of the list.

Rev 10:4

And when the seven thunders had sounded, I was about to write, but I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Seal up what the seven thunders have said, and do not write it down.”

John saw something that he was going to write down… but he heard a voice from heaven telling him to stop. The seven thunders said something, but it was for John to know and not us.

What was it, we wonder? And the answer is simple – something we don’t need to know yet. All revelation on the end is not for us.

Here’s something that may be a revelation to you. God doesn’t have to tell you everything. You don’t need to know everything. In fact if we did, we probably wouldn’t know how to handle it.

We won’t know everything – we can’t know everything. We are not God and He chooses what He reveals. If that means some questions are left unanswered, then that’s ok. He will answer in His time. When we go looking for “hidden knowledge” that leads to trouble and heresy. In the bible is everything God has chosen to reveal. Don’t look outside that.
