Nov 22 Ezekiel 41, Ezekiel 42 1 Peter 1, 1 Peter 2:1-3 Psalm 131:1-3

1 Pet 1:12

It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in the things that have now been announced to you through those who preached the good news to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, things into which angels long to look.

Angels long to look into the things God has done for us. Did you know you’ve been given a gift that not even the mighty angels have? The angels cannot share in your testimony of salvation. They cannot share to the change that happens because of the sacrifice of Jesus. An Angel cannot say I once was lost but now I’m found. They cannot say that Jesus has set them free.

To the Angels who fell, there is no redemption. For the angels that did not, there is no need of redemption.

The good news, the gospel changing your life is a powerful, powerful thing! The gift God has given us is one He has not given to the angels.

1 Pet 1:14-16

As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”

Why do we seek holiness? So that we are acceptable to God? No, Jesus handled that on the cross. We are not saved by anything we do but by what Jesus did for us. Now that we are saved, that changes things for us.We are no longer ignorant. We know the truth. We know what is right and wrong. We know that sin hurts God.

That fundamentally changes our relationship to it. We are set free so that we can be holy, because the one we love is Holy. Holness isn’t a burden. It’s a privilege.
