John 12:24-25

Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

We can be too attached to what we have in this life. We forget it’s temporary.

The willingness to give it up, to die to self does not come naturally. But it’s the only way to really experience life. When we are willing to lose our life for something bigger – it’s only then that we find a real purpose in life.

A grain of wheat has purpose if it doesn’t die. You can eat it, make bread out of it… but it’s not until it dies that it can become something even greater.

If your life is about the here and now… that will in time, end.

If your life is about eternity – and you are willing to die to self and live for Christ… then eternity is yours.
