John 2:7-9

Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. And he said to them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the feast.” So they took it. When the master of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and did not know where it came from (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom

Jesus didn’t turn water into wine. Nope.

Read it again.

He doesn’t touch the jars at any point. He doesn’t proclaim “now water, become Bordeaux!”

Don’t get me wrong. Jesus is clearly the cause of the miracle. It’s the first of his “signs” in John.

But Jesus doesn’t do the work. He gets the servants to do it.

Sometimes we are looking for a miracle, asking Jesus to move – when actually Jesus is asking for us to move. If the servants had not poured out the jars… no wine would have been made.

The answer to the prayer you are praying may mean YOU have to do something. YOU have to get involved so that HIS power can change things.

Prayer isn’t just about asking for things to be done, but listening and obeying to what He wants you to do.
