1 Kings 4:31-31

For he was wiser than all other men, wiser than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, Calcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol, and his fame was in all the surrounding nations.

He also spoke 3,000 proverbs, and his songs were 1,005.

3000 proverbs. 1005 songs. Those are a lot. They are also really specific, as if someone as counted these numbers.

We don’t have a record of all of Solomon’s proverbs or all of his songs, and I’m sure in them they would be great things to read. What we have in the book of Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon (Or Song of Songs) and the psalms he contributed are the divinely impaired works of the wisest man that the world had seen. All those people that we are told he was wiser than, I have no idea who any of them are. But the words of Solomon have endured.

But this man, disprove his great wisdom will make some great mistakes.

Even the best of us fail.

Even the best of us let God down.

But God’s love never fails. God’s love never lets us down.

The wisdom of Solomon is foolishness to the wisdom of God. What an amazing God He is.
