Dec 11 Esther 1, Esther 2:1-18 – Revelation 2:18-29, Revelation 3:1-6 – Psalm 140:6-13

Psalm 135:13

Your name, O LORD, endures forever, your renown, O LORD, throughout all ages.

Apparently the world has moved on. It doesn’t seem to think it needs God any more, He has become an irrelevance to people. Come on, it’s the 21st century after all!

Oh dear – how wrong they all are.

Too often people ask the question, “How is God relevant to me?” That the wrong way around. He’s the one who will endure for all eternity. He’s the one who’s name endures forever and throughout all the ages. The question we should be asking is “Am I relevant to Him?” And of course we are, He loves us so much that He sent His only son for us.

He doesn’t need to impress us or prove His relevance to us. He’s God. We are not. He’s the one who made the heavens and the earth. He is the one whose name will last for all eternity.

We exist to glorify Him, He does not exist to validate us.

It bears remembering the natural order of things, otherwise we can think too much of ourselves and not enough of Him.
