Jer 10:1-2

Hear the word that the LORD speaks to you, O house of Israel.

Thus says the LORD: “Learn not the way of the nations, nor be dismayed at the signs of the heavens because the nations are dismayed at them,

Learn not the ways of the nations. Unfortunately, we learn too much from the world around us – we let the culture and the lofty opinions the world influence our lives as Christians. Sometimes we can learn the ways of the world too well and yet be ignorant of the ways of the Kingdom.

God’s ways are not the world’s ways. His ways are far higher. We would do well to learn his ways and not the ways of the nations, which will always be a disappointment.

But we’ve let the wisdom of the world in.

There’s not enough of the church in the world…. but there’s too much of the world in the church. We would do well not to learn the ways of the world.

Whose wisdom do you depend on? Man’s? Or God’s?
