Dec 25 Nehemiah 3, Nehemiah 4 Revelation 17 Psalm 147:12-20

Rev 17:14

They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.”

First of all, a very Happy Christmas. It seems strange to read a passage like this on Christmas Day, but really it’s not.

At Christmas we celebrate the end of advent with the birth of Jesus. The time of waiting, over.

And revelation is about the end of the second advent. The time of waiting we are in today as we await the return of Jesus.

The time of waiting isn’t nice. I’m glad that the date we chose for Christmas is in December, which would be a bleak old month without it. Imagine December without Christmas… it would just be cold, dark and with nothing to look forward to.

A lot of the book of revelation feels a bit like December. Cold. Bleak. Dark.

But it ends with victory. Here we read, they may make war on the lamb, but He will conquer them all. The second advent will end… all of this bleak, scary and disturbing stuff will be over. And the King will rule. Jesus is coming back!
