12/3/18 – Leviticus 25, Leviticus 26:1-13 – Mark 16:1-20 – Psalm 33:1-11

Mark 16:6

“Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here.

I remember the first time I visited the garden tomb in Jerusalem. I was not expecting much. I knew that it was a likely candidate, but also that we don’t really know where the tomb of Jesus really is.

I walked into this small cave land looked around. And on the door was written those very words. “He has risen! He is not here!” And I was overcome.

We don’t know where the tomb is, because it’s empty. He’s not there! The early church didn’t have the need to keep on visiting it.

My Lord is risen! What amazing words they must have been to hear. They came that morning to mourn – they left rejoicing (and initially a bit confused). May our touring too be replaced with rejoicing. We serve a God who is not dead, He is alive. And because HE lives, we too shall have life everlasting.

Ps 33:4-5

For the word of the Lord is right and true;

he is faithful in all he does.

The Lord loves righteousness and justice;

the earth is full of his unfailing love.

The word of the Lord is right. It’s true. That means everything read read in HIs word is accurate. Every promise God makes He keeps.

Sometimes we focus on the bad and the difficult times. But the earth is full to bursting with HIs unfailing love. Just look at what He’s done in your life. Look at how He’s changed you.

When you have doubts – when you think H’e snot there for you, remember He said He’d be with you – to the end of the age. He will not leave you or forsake you.

That’s more true than how you may be feeling emotionally. You can’t trust your emotions – trust the word of God instead.
