24/1/18 – Genesis 47:13-31 – Genesis 48 – Matthew 16:21-28 – Matthew 17:1-13 Proverbs 3:1-10

TODAY’S POST IS WRITTEN BY PASTOR STEVE YOUNG

Gen 47:23-24 – Then Joseph said to the people, “Behold, I have this day bought you and your land for Pharaoh. Now here is seed for you, and you shall sow the land. And at the harvests you shall give a fifth to Pharaoh, and four fifths shall be your own, as seed for the field and as food for yourselves and your households, and as food for your little ones.”

Here we have Joseph’s example of being proactive and how it pays off in preparing for the day of famine. For the Egyptians and the Israelites this was a time to reign above their circumstances and Joseph did just that. I we walk in God’s light (revelation) we can have enough bread for ourselves and for others around us, that is the living bread. What stands out from these readings is that the way we want to do things isn’t always God’s way. What we need to do is to focus on what God tells us to do and obey and not think as a man, but a spiritual man. His way is best, listen to Him, we wont always get it right just like Joseph and Peter, but it’s fantastic when we do. Let us ask for His wisdom and guidance today in all our ways.
